Elisabetta Rogai
Panoramica
Florentine artist Elisabetta Rogai has forged an extraordinary path in contemporary art, known internationally for her evocative portraits and her groundbreaking technique: EnoArte®, a method of painting with red wine. Rogai began painting at the age of nine and held her first solo exhibition in 1970. Her works have since been showcased in major exhibitions across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
In 2010, she revolutionized the concept of painting by using wine as a living pigment—her EnoArte® creations evolve in time as the wine oxidizes, mirroring the essence of life and aging. Her art bridges tradition and innovation, rooted in classical training yet driven by experimentation and cultural dialogue.
Among her most notable commissions are the Drappellone for the Palio di Siena (2015), a fresco for the Italian Air Force Academy in Florence, and the wine label Astrid, chosen to represent the Italian EU Presidency in 2003. Over the years, she has participated in prestigious cultural initiatives, including exhibitions at Palazzo Vecchio, Villa Medici, and Ca’ Sagredo in Venice, as well as performances alongside artists, sommeliers, and musicians in high-profile events from Florence to Hong Kong.
A member of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence, Rogai continues to captivate audiences with her dedication to art as a medium of truth, beauty, and peace.
