Silvio Porzionato
Panoramica
Silvio Porzionato (b. 1971, Moncalieri, Italy) is a contemporary figurative painter renowned for his large-scale oil portraits. Working from realistic photographic references, his paintings transform everyday subjects into universal icons of humanity. Portrayed in statuary close-ups, his figures transcend the private dimension of the portrait to embody collective archetypes.
After graduating from art school, Porzionato worked for a decade as a head designer in a leading Italian company before dedicating himself fully to painting. Retreating to the countryside, he embraced a life deeply connected with nature and creativity. His talent was soon recognized: he was awarded the Mondadori Art Prize, received the Critics’ Prize at Saluzzo Art, and created a permanent work for the Museum of Urban Art in Turin. In 2011, he was selected for the 54th Venice Biennale.
In 2013, he realized the monumental installation Temporal Code for MACS (Museum of Contemporary Art in Sicily), composed of 112 portraits reflecting the different ages of humanity, from childhood to old age. Since then, his career has expanded internationally, with participations in major art fairs such as Art Miami, Kiaf Art Seoul, Art Lima, London Art Fair, Contemporary Istanbul, and Art New York.
His recent projects include 007 Portraits (2021), a special commission for Aston Martin in Milan inspired by the James Bond saga, and solo and group exhibitions across Hong Kong, Miami, Chicago, London, Paris, Bogotá, New York, Seoul, and Istanbul.
In 2025, Porzionato presented solo shows such as Out of the Blue (Rossetti Arte Contemporanea, Genoa), El universo a partir de poco (LGM Galeria, Bogotá), and Echoes of Eternity with Rogerio Timoteo (Artcatto Gallery, Algarve), alongside participating in Art Palm Beach, Arte Genova, and Younique Boutique Fair in Lugano.
Today, Silvio Porzionato is celebrated for his ability to capture the timeless essence of human presence — ordinary yet iconic, intimate yet universal.

The show creates a dialogue between Porzionato’s monumental portraits and Jenkell’s iconic candy sculptures, exploring identity, memory, and transformation. While Porzionato captures the essence of humanity in statuary close-ups, elevating everyday faces into universal archetypes, Jenkell transforms candy into a symbol of joy, nostalgia, and desire, twisting industrial materials into luminous works of Pop Art.
Opening on 15 October, from 7 PM at Oblong Contemporary, Al Khayat Art Avenue, Dubai, Sweet Faces invites visitors to discover a vibrant interplay between figuration and sculpture — between the depth of the human gaze and the sweetness of childhood dreams.
