Philippe Delenseigne
Overview
Since the beginning he has shown his nature aimed at the investigation of the artistic material: as an absolute self-taught he dedicates himself to painting, sculpture and video-art, techniques which, taken together, testify to his personal eclectic character and aimed at experimentation. He believes in observation and experience: the repeated and continuous journeys between France, Italy, Germany-Paris, Pietrasanta, Berlin testify to this. The three European cities, connected together by the resistant fil rouge of an art of the highest level, are well suited to the qualities that the French artist constantly nurtures: an attention to elegant and universal forms; a propensity to conceptualize one's own works; thorough knowledge of playing techniques. Three characters that integrate into his personality in an excellent way. His materials prove it, often used according to anti-classical schemes: resins and vinyl glues - with which he gives life to completely original universal agglomerations in the contemporary artistic panorama; but also bronze and marble, more noble and celebrated materials, with which to create more defined works, in search and therefore to discover what the human eye can't directly perceive. His intense production translates into an equally substantial series of exhibition interventions, often managed by the absolute protagonist. Between 1999 and the very recent present, personal and collective exhibitions demonstrate his remarkable artistic qualities to the world. Tokyo in Asia; Prague, Vienna, Grasse, Barcelona, Oslo, Paris, Berlin, Moscow in Europe; and, among others, Carrara, Pietrasanta, Milan, Turin, La Spezia and Pescara in Italy saw him receive unanimous acclaim, which then translated into an equally considerable interest in collecting. This curriculum is in fact the sign of an ever-living international ferment that develops between Europe, Asia, North and South America. His works are held in both public and private collections. The public collections include: Municipal Gouvernement, Senas (France); Oppéde (France); Municipal Palace of Calcinaia (PI); Regional Natural Park of the Apuan Alps, Seravezza (LU); Sculptors Association, Turin. He lives and works in Pietrasanta (LU).
