both seduction and danger. Giuseppe Maiorana’s sculpture follows the cycle of

water — from submerged civilizations to ritual practices, passing through the

murky tides of trade routes. The hybrid figure of the mermaid, at times malevolent

and at times protective, half woman and half animal, serves as a guide through

these realms, from the depths to the surface. Her dual nature resonates with that

of water itself, a space of metamorphosis between waters of youth and waters of

fate.
