Stefano Bombardieri: Con Altri Occhi: Sala delle Grasce, Centro Culturale "Luigi Russo", Pietrasanta

The Municipality of Pietrasanta in collaboration with the Oblong Contemporary Art Gallery organizes the exhibition CON ALTRI OCCHI. STEFANO BOMBARDIERI which will be set up in the Sala delle Grasce in Pietrasanta, from the 25th of June to the 16th of July 2023.

 

The review is an integral part of the program of the seventh edition of the DAP Festival Dance and new Dance Drama, and brings a much loved author back to Versilia who will also be the star of the DAP Festival Grand Gala on the 8th of July at the Gran Teatro della Versiliana, when one of his works will enter the stage to be part of the choreography of "Pretend", the world premiere show born from an idea by Adria Ferrali which sees the international star PeiJu Chien-Pott, one of the greatest living modern dancers, on stage.

 

In the Luigi Russo Cultural Center, whose Sala delle Grasce overlooks the large and beautiful square of Pietrasanta, a series of works by Stefano Bombardieri are set up, all belonging to the fantastic universes that characterize the poetics and aesthetics of artist.

 

His sculptures, all figurative, develop on the strongly philosophical reflection on time and its perception, on the experience of pain in Western culture, on man and the meaning of existence. His work begins in tangible reality to arrive at an inner space where Bombardieri ideally unites the earth with man and the natural elements with the need to create a balanced relationship with the surrounding world.

 

Through that extraordinary mirror which are the animal species, especially the large pachyderms that populate Bombardieri's "bestiary", appear what for Bombardieri are metaphors of human existential complexity. Man is at the center of the artist's interest, but man should question his desired but precarious balance and choose to safeguard the planet.
