Attuali exhibition
Panoramica
Oblong Contemporary Gallery is thrilled to unveil a captivating collection of seven new works by the esteemed artist Abol Atighetchi.
This exclusive exhibition features a series of paintings, predominantly from the 1990s, that pay homage to a rich tapestry of cultures and nationalities. The collection includes: Africana (1991), Swaziland (1991), Les Artistes (1991), Totem II (1992), Zulu II, Series Occultes (1992), as well as his more recent creations, L’arlequin (2022) and Bluebird (2024).
Abol Atighetchi, an Iranian artist with deep roots in Persian heritage and currently residing in Dubai, has developed a distinctive artistic voice shaped by his extensive global journey. His experiences across Iran, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and his eventual return to Iran are vividly reflected in his work. Atighetchi’s artistic evolution—from figurative art to calligraphy and, finally, to minimalism—offers a unique exploration of cultural diversity and historical narratives.
We are delighted to present these remarkable works for the first time at our Dubai gallery.
