Oblong Contemporary Hosts Key Workshops of the Al Quoz Creative Entrepreneurship Forum

On 26–27 October, Oblong Contemporary proudly served as one of the central venues for the Al Quoz Creative Entrepreneurship Forum, a two-day programme organised by Dubai Culture to empower emerging creatives, founders and innovators across the UAE’s rapidly developing creative industries.
Our gallery welcomed hundreds of participants, offering a dynamic environment where artists, entrepreneurs and cultural practitioners engaged in hands-on workshops, discussions and collaborative learning sessions. As part of the Forum’s mission—Passion, Profit, Possibilities—the workshops focused on transforming creative vision into viable business pathways, providing practical tools, mentorship and meaningful community connections.

Transforming the Gallery Into a Live Podcast Studio
In addition to hosting the workshops, Oblong Contemporary reimagined its antresole level into a fully functioning live podcast studio for @thecreativehustleshow, hosted by May Barber. Throughout the weekend, conversations with creators, founders and thought-leaders were recorded on site—capturing authentic stories, challenges and insights from across the creative ecosystem.
The interviews were beautifully framed by sculptural compositions by Gustavo Vélez and Gianfranco Meggiato, as well as a striking volumetric abstract work by Cveto Marsic & Dmitry Sukhov. These artworks served as an inspiring and visually powerful backdrop, seamlessly blending contemporary art with entrepreneurial dialogue to elevate every moment of the recording.

Supporting Dubai’s Creative Future
As a gallery dedicated to fostering cultural dialogue and cross-disciplinary exchange, Oblong Contemporary is honoured to contribute to initiatives that strengthen Dubai’s position as a global creative hub.
The Al Quoz Creative Entrepreneurship Forum serves as a vital platform where creativity and business meet—offering visibility, resources and support for the region’s creative talent.
Hosting this programme reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing creative communities and opening our space to projects that inspire, educate and empower.
