Your first contact with art?
I have been fascinated by painting since I was a child.
When did you realize that art would become a profession rather than just a passion?
Actually, I never aimed to be a professional painter. I don't think this concept makes much sense. Art is a way of living life for me.

A tempera painting of the salt flats at the age of eight.
Is it necessary to have studied art to create it?
To create art, one must listen to themselves. It’s not that obvious. Knowledge is always useful, and the ability to solve technical issues helps in the creative process. Training is welcome, but it is not essential.
What connects your paintings and music?
I always listen to music; I like it, it stimulates me. My studio is always filled with music. Very often, I create images as if they were music. I have great admiration for music creators.
How do you choose what to portray?
I follow a sensation, almost a need, then, along the way, things change. The result is the fruit of this journey and the encounters along the road.
A memorable anecdote that makes you smile?
I like to live with joy. There are many moments that make me happy and reflect in my soul. But not everything is happiness. To smile, one almost always needs to overcome difficulties.
If you could meet an artist from the past, who would it be and what would you ask them?
I would definitely ask Picasso where and how he was able to do so much with such richness in every work he created.
If you met yourself at 18, what advice would you give?
Never give up.
How important is communication?
It’s important, but also delegable.
What is the difference in the perception of art between Italy and abroad?
I don't think I have the specific perspective to answer this question.
What is art to you?
Art to me is like breathing. It is a vital necessity.
How important are light and color to you?
Everything matters in the fascinating world of art. Everything leaves a mark. Of course, light and color matter a lot.
