RITORNI IL RISVEGLIO DELLE ORIGINI: Group exhibition in Puglia, Italy

Overview

Leonardo Trulli Resort, in collaboration with Oblong Contemporary Gallery, is pleased to present Ritorni — Il Risveglio delle Origini, a contemporary art exhibition opening on 13 July and remaining on view until 30 September.

The project arises from the desire to tell the story of a place through memory, matter, and art. It is a story rooted in the ancient landscape of Puglia, where stone, olive trees, light, and silence preserve a profound and enduring history.

At the heart of this narrative stands the symbolic figure of Leonardo: a man deeply connected to his land, with the simplicity and strength of someone who knew its every breath. His world was made of a masseria, a solitary trullo, and an authentic landscape — not rich in appearances, but rich in soul.

Before leaving this world, Leonardo entrusted this place to Rosalba, passing on to her, in spirit, a promise: to preserve its identity while allowing it to be reborn.

Over time, that promise has taken form. The original trullo became part of a village of stone; the masseria was transformed into a place of hospitality, quiet, and beauty; and the land continued to live through its vegetable garden, vineyards, centuries-old olive trees, and the natural rhythm of the seasons. Nothing was erased. Every element was preserved, reinterpreted, and brought back into a new light.

Within this landscape, contemporary art becomes the voice of the land.

The sculptures do not impose themselves upon the place; they belong to it. They emerge among the olive trees, converse with the trulli, guide the visitor’s gaze, and transform the path into an intimate and symbolic experience.

The exhibition unfolds around the theme of Ritorni — Il Risveglio delle Origini, a journey marked by six artistic presences and six inner moments: the awakening of matter, memory, life, humanity, dance, and the cosmos.

The works of Silvia Della Rocca, Giuseppe Maiorana, Stefano Bombardieri, Stefano Pierotti, Sauro Cavallini, and Gianfranco Meggiato create an itinerary in which each stage invites a different reflection. Matter becomes origin, memory becomes root, life asks to be protected, humanity rediscovers its fragility, dance opens the way to freedom, and the cosmos brings everything back to a greater order.

The aim is to offer visitors an experience that goes beyond aesthetic contemplation. The exhibition becomes a path to be walked: a dialogue between art, nature, and architecture, capable of transforming the landscape into a place of listening, wonder, and awareness.

In this encounter between past and present, stone begins to speak again.

The trulli, the olive trees, and the sculptures become guardians of a new narrative, in which tradition does not remain still, but opens itself to the future through the universal language of art.

Leonardo’s symbolic return thus becomes the confirmation of a promise fulfilled: to preserve the authentic soul of a land and, through art, to give it a voice capable of speaking to the world.

Inside the resort, the exhibition continues with a section dedicated to Fulvio Bifarini, marking an ideal transition from the monumental breath of the park to the more intimate spaces of hospitality. His large abstract oil paintings open a new dimension within the project: an awakening of interior life.

If the sculptures outdoors establish a profound dialogue with matter, memory, and landscape, Bifarini responds from within through the power of colour. His works arise from a visceral and instinctive gesture, where painting becomes energy, emotional trace, and a primordial act of expression.

Naturally integrated into the spaces of the resort, this selection becomes a sensitive and silent extension of the exhibition. It invites viewers to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the richness of human emotion, rediscovering wonder even in the smallest details of everyday life.

Through Ritorni — Il Risveglio delle Origini, Leonardo Trulli Resort opens its doors to art as an act of guardianship and rebirth. As Rosalba’s vision reminds us, this heritage is not simply a matter of ownership, but of care. These trulli, built stone by stone more than three hundred years ago, preserve the living memory of an ancient knowledge, born in dialogue with nature and capable of enduring through time.

Today, that memory continues to breathe.

By welcoming contemporary art among the trulli, the olive trees, and the silence of the Puglian landscape, Leonardo Trulli Resort invites visitors to experience travel not merely as a visit, but as a sensory and inner journey — a moment of beauty, listening, and authentic emotion.
