Fragments of Colour, Manu Alguerò
Oblong Contemporary Art Gallery opens the exhibition Fragments of Colour by the Catalan artist Manu Alguerò on the 11th January 2023 in its Dubai location on Bluewaters Island.
 
Ten large-scale works on canvas, some of which have never been seen before and created specifically for the Dubai exhibition, tell the poetics of the artist who, partially borrowed from abstract expressionism, brings matter, colour and gesture into play to create a stunning visual impact.
 
Weaves, nuances, reliefs emerge from the colours that the artist applies to the canvas, creating an impacting materiality that envelops the viewer like a vortex, a technical vigor that tells the story of creation, which reveals the artist's audacity on the canvas and his ability to weave figures combined with the artistic gesture, and created through the very application of the color that outlines them, especially in the faces, form and expression, presence and absence at the same time.
