The Nascence
Oblong Contemporary Gallery's debut exhibition 'The Nascence' marks the gallery's entry into Dubai's internationally established art scene.
'The Nascence' signifies the emergence of something new and bold coming into existence for the first time. With this group exhibition, showcasing works of some of the most prolific and prominent artists of contemporary art with an emphasis on sculpture, Oblong begins a new journey in Dubai.
With the launch of its first gallery in Forte dei Marmi, Italy, in July 2019 Oblong aspires to the beginning of a series of galleries to be established in major cultural cities across the globe.
Dubai's rapidly developing arts and culture arena makes it an excellent location for the launch of Oblong's headquarters. The gallery's mission is to add and bolster the existing art scene in Dubai and the UAE. By holding exhibitions featuring some of the highest quality international artworks and providing a platform to artists of the region, Oblong fullfils its vision.
It is of great significance for the founders of Oblong to have their gallery blend into the vibrant and global metropolis of Dubai and to take part in influencing the arts and culture scene by hosting a robust programme of workshops, educational initiatives and a cross-cultural exchange podium between Pietrasanta and Italy.
'The Nascence' showcases the works of some of the most prolific and prominent artists of contemporary art, including: Igor Mitoraj, Manolo Valdéz, Stefano Bombardier, amongst many others.
