Emre Namyeter
Overview
Emre Namyeter is a multidisciplinary artist interested in the ways abstraction can challenge perception. His extensive educational background began at Istanbul Bilgi University, where he studied advertising and photography. He then pursued fine art and sculpture degrees, capping off his academic career with studies in electronic arts at Concordia University in Montreal. Namyeter’s desire to understand and master different disciplines translates into hypnotic, multisensory paintings, sculptures, photographs, and light-box works. He pours paint onto materials such as wood, glass, aluminum, and LEDs; the resulting swirl effect is influenced by the motion of his body during this process. Namyeter has garnered attention for his works following his participation in Contemporary Istanbul, exhibiting in 2015, 2018, and 2019.
